Dolphin’s Strategy…

“Dolphin’s strategy requires thinking about how to think.” Through the course of centuries that human followed, he coexisted with animals.

Some them, he managed to tame and like this to have some species closer, while he keeps the rest of them in the distance because he hasn’t made any effort to approach them in a positive way for thousand years now.

A proof for this is the fact that during the last centuries he hasn’t tamed any animal.

On the opposite, all the animal species are just considered “wealth and food sources,” something that distances, even more, people from their animal partners.

But in recent years, the cruel treatment of these comrades of human has revolutionized a storm of protests of thousand people who are sensitized to environmental and ecological problems of every kind. So, the person was forced “to remember again” this neglected realm of nature.

But we will refer to these matters another time. In this article, we will try to refer to another way of contact of human and animals.

It’s that one of the observances of their behavior, of its parallelism with the human one and of reaching into conclusion and many times into teachings.

In ancient Greece, Aesop is an example of a person who tries with simple mythical parables to highlight some features, characteristics, and virtues of animals and how these are interwoven with human characteristics. We all understand that behind the Fox, the evil person is hiding, behind the Donkey the stubborn but also the patient one, behind the Wolf the aggressive one, for few examples to be mentioned.

Within the context of each mythology, and of the Myth and Theological Symbology of the peoples in general, animals play an important role. Some of their characteristics make the man understand that they are a human expression of some celestial forces.

Furthermore, among the events of personal meetings with animals, we find Androcles with his tamed lion, and Arion, who it’s said that a dolphin carried him on its back and rescued him from the sea.

And we come in the modern era.

All the species “come into the lab,” are examined and studied carefully, with the aim of their exploitation.

However, the extensive capabilities of technology presented some new data that in other ways were difficult to be proved.

Thus, it is shown that for once more that animals can teach humans.

Indeed, many authors have dealt with the so-called “psychic powers” of animals. Some great examples are already mentioned.

Thus, e.g. some tamed elephants put some mud into their bells, to be able to go and steal some bananas, while animals were closed into soundproof chambers and it was proved that they communicate with other ones.

Moreover, people with some unusual mental gifts claimed that they communicated with animals telepathically, that they “talked” to them and it’s proved that in the sector of supersensuous perception, animals not only are inferior but they have to exhibit some remarkable achievements.

And even nowadays, animals keep “saving lives” in fires, accidents and elsewhere.

Among all these occasions, dolphins are distinguished.

We have already mentioned the myth of Arion from the ancient times, which is likely to be true.

The mental and intellectual charismas of dolphins surprise anytime.

Having as a cause their behavior, some scholars wrote the book: “The strategy of Dolphin.”

This is a book about the management, though it owes its title and content to the characteristics of the Dolphin.Dolphin’s strategy

We will refer below to the substance of this book, emphasizing some of the issues which are raised.

Of course, the scale of the development of the specific problems and size of the book doesn’t allow us a thorough analysis in an article.

However, the goal is to motivate every interested person and to study themselves the book.

Furthermore to be added that its content is such one that it isn’t necessary the one who will read it to deal with business.

The data of concern that it contains make it useful to anyone who is interested in their self-knowledge and self-development, and in their relationships with others.

Thinking and acting like a Dolphin, is the central axis our subject.

However, do all people think and act like this? Not! Inside of “a sea of faces” many human types move around. The existence of three main types is highlighted:

*of Dolphin
*of Shark
*of Carp

In Shark, we will recognize the aggressive and predatory type, that always wants to has as many as possible.

In the positions of “Tank of Existence, ” it takes the position of the persecutor.

It divides the others into victimizers and victims, into losers and winners and the like.

Within the “territorial sea” of Shar, there is fraud, fog (“blurring of the waters”) arrogance, control and other similar that “mark” its territory.

The approach it applies is the acquisition and compromise since it has to do with victims.

However, in the “tank” there is space for other tactics too, like e.g. the Access and the Escape.

We will recognize the Dolphin, which “breaks” the limits and expands the dimensions of the tank, while Carps sit in the victim’s corner and adopt the Escape in various forms.

The Escape and the retreat are the practices which the Carp will take when it is faced with difficulties.

However, there are some other masks that it can adopt since its belief is that it isn’t the only victim, but others too.

Thus, it may appear as a savior (for other victims) as an impediment to the game (whatever it is) pretending to be real or problematic or the one who is left outside.

But Carps through a way of adoption manage finally to survive.

A large number of them blame, but at the same time, they are supported on the system.

They are the fake open-minded Carps, the FOMC (as they are mentioned in the book) which we would say that occupy a large space in the common reservoir of the current materialistic and commercial culture that dominates the planet.

It concerns the petty bourgeoisie, who have a comfortable income, covers and wants a bigger one, but also they are afraid of the loss of comfort and the risks that are contained in the risk of any decision.

Thus, they adopt their tactics to survive.

It doesn’t cross their mind that maybe sometime; perhaps, there will be a shortage of anything because they believe in abundance.

They don’t take responsibilities for changes.

They are the intellectual type, which only discusses the failings and indicates them.

They let time to choose for things, they don’t deepen in the aims and believe that eventually “everything will be OK.”

Another interesting point in their characteristics is that of frivolous generalization.

It’s mentioned here the theory of the hundredth monkey, based on the quantitative outlook of things.

If a hundred people do something, then everyone else will begin to do the same.

This contains some truth, but it hides the risk of the frivolous generalization, which emulates everything quickly.

So we should repeat at this point that in the social tank Sharks, Dolphins and FOMC (fake open-minded Carps) circulate.

Dolphins incite the wave, exploit the “creative” anxiety, expand the boundaries of the tank, achieve the Excess and always seek the beautiful result.

Sharks chase desperately victory, constantly saying: “I must win”!

They deify the competition, see only winners and losers.

Dolphins finally defeat them.

Defeatism characterizes caps and since they “sing”: “I can’t be a winner,” they try in every way to “carry it off,” covering in any way
their compromise and failure, which in fact they don’t want to see. They prefer not to know.

They accept defeat, sacrifice, and weakness as the primary rules in the game of life.

Looking at the lines of the text, everyone can distinguish themselves, and “others” too. But we must wonder.

For everyone except me, don’t I belong to the others?

Furthermore, let’s mention some more interesting facts that we find in this book.

Thus e.g. Toffler waves are said, * 3 which as it’s known -to summarize it- emphasize that humanity
went from the base of the Hunter nomad to the agricultural phase.

Later to the industrial one and now it’s in the phase (wave) when computers replace the human brain while another wave of evolution lies ahead or perhaps other waves which will be spread in a very quick rhythm, while many people won’t prevent to adjust in the new data.

Furthermore, the theory of chaos is mentioned with all the curiosities that it hides.

But mainly that Chaos is apparent, there is a subtle order in the chaotically displayed universe, while seemingly insignificant factors may lead to massive disturbances due to their escalation.

A journey into the tank still shows “human types” who are distinguished from others by their worldviews.

We mention some of them characteristically: the participant, the individualist, the loyalist, the hunter of choices.

Everybody adopts some values and make some decisions to survive.

In which part of the tank do you move? And in what way do you evaluated and others and mostly yourself?

At the same time mentioned the great importance that the hemispheres of the brain have, and the kind of behaviors that corresponds to each one are mentioned.

Our researchers progress even in actions that correspond to the brain quadrants that prevail in each person.

Also, in the human relationship with time and how each one of us is placed in front of the future vision.

Even the morphogenetic fields are mentioned (it concerns the tank which all personal inspirations of any kind are derived from, to make it simple).

But this view touches deeper inner truths.
In the end, is it useful the reading a book about contemporary Management?

If someone approaches it with philosophical spirit, I think it is. It doesn’t matter someone tries
to see themselves as a Dolphin that defeats the Sharks and always creates “elegant” results, that overcomes
stress and monotony, that brakes the limits and “creates a vision.”

It matters that since we are humans and think, we must work on how we think. Otherwise, others will think and decide for us.
